If you have an interest in cars, engines, or machines and you have good mechanical aptitude, the Industrial Trade Technology Department at SRJC is the place for state-of-the-art technical training in Machine Tool Technology, Diesel, and Automotive. The Diesel Program offers cutting-edge alternative fuel classes, while the Automotive Program is well-known among most Sonoma County auto dealerships, transmission shops, and engine shops that often send their new employees to SRJC for additional training. Working auto techs take SRJC classes to remain current in the newest diagnostic tools and latest computer technologies, electric car conversion, and hybrid and electric car repair and alternative fuels.
You might also consider becoming a machinist, career path that will involve you in making today’s latest products. Machine Tool Technology is an interesting field with diverse employment opportunities for people who are detail oriented and mathematically inclined.
