SRJC Agriculture/Natural Resources Department

APPLIED TECHNOLOGY

If you have good communication skills, mechanical and computational aptitude, and enjoy working in varied environments, the Applied Technology Department at SRJC can prepare you for green careers that are in high demand.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that job opportunities in the fields represented by the Applied Technology Department will grow steadily through 2014. Urban Planning, Architecture, Construction, and disaster and emergency planning have particularly strong employment outlooks. Geospatial Technology (GPS) is one of the fastest growing career fields in North Almerica today. The demand for Solar Installers is high and growing steadily. Water quality is becoming a global concern and there will be many opportunities for Water Utilities Operators. SRJC's program is geared to prepare students for state exams.

The department offers 12 certificate and degree programs with concentrations in Architecture and Construction, Civil Engineering, Surveying. Geospatial Technology, Electronic Technology, and Water Resource Tec;nology. Students are well-prepared for career entry or transfer to a 4-year college or university.
