About the Bear Cub Athletic Trust
In 1995, under the leadership of then-Athletic Director Ben Partee, the SRJC Foundation’s Bear Cub Athletic Trust (BCAT) was founded. The first meeting of the BCAT committee took place on November 3, 1995 with SRJC Foundation Board Member Bob Salisbury serving as committee chair. With the help of a group of Bear Cub boosters, SRJC coaches and other college employees, the Bear Cub Athletic Trust Committee’s intent was to form an organization that would assist the Kinesiology, Athletics, and Dance Department in various capacities, such as: fundraising and providing volunteer help for department activities, while keeping SRJC alumni connected to the college.
We are proud to state that over the last fifteen years, funds raised through BCAT committee activities and events have been used to assist in the purchase of state championship rings, help defray the cost of new department web pages, provide video equipment for coaches and assist with costs associated with state playoff competitions for a number of our intercollegiate sport teams.
In addition, members of the committee as well as other boosters, have volunteered their services and countless hours in a number of significant ways: helping with hospitality rooms, setting up and running concessions and gate, promoting merchandise at home games, and planning events.
