The SRJC Foundation AG Trust

The SRJC Foundation AG Trust serves as a committee of the Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation with the overall purpose of encouraging support of the agriculture and natural resources programs. The focus of the AG Trust is to raise funds for and promote community awareness of the agriculture/natural resources program and the SRJC Shone Farm

Save the Date - November 8, 2008!

The SRJC Foundation AG Trust is honoring STEVE OLSON beginning at 4:00 PM on November 8 at the SRJC Shone Farm in the Warren G. Dutton, Jr. Agriculture Pavilion. The AG Trust is celebrating Steve for his excellence in education and leadership. Steve recently retired from Santa Rosa Junior College after a successful 33 year career.

The retirement celebration will feature a variety of SRJC agriculture demonstrations, a silent and live auction, entertainment, and a program to honor Steve Olson. Graduates from the college's viticulture and wine studies programs will be on hand to pour wines from their wineries.

Agstravaganza FACTS & GENERAL INFORMATION

The Agstravaganza is a well-organized, high quality event that attracts 600 guests for an experience of agriculture-related activities, Sonoma County farm-fresh foods, and local wines. Event sponsors can take advantage of promotional opportunities the Agstravaganza has to offer including web-based marketing, direct marketing, and program listing. The biennial event hosted by the SRJC Foundation AG Trust and community volunteers raises funds in support of the college’s Agriculture and Natural Resources programs.

Santa Rosa Junior College Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources.

Since 1969, the department's program expansion, student enrollments, and resources have grown to keep pace with the agriculture needs of Sonoma County.

The department now has more than a dozen diverse program areas ranging from Sustainable Agriculture, Animal Science, and Horticulture to Natural Resources Conservation, Agri-Business, and Viticulture. More than 1,200 students enroll in these courses each year.

The College Farm, which was established in 1972, is a 365-acre working farm that serves the diversified needs of the Agriculture/Natural Resources Department.
