Student Employee Recognition Suggestions

Individual Recognition

The number one way to show you appreciate your student workers is to recognize their individual accomplishments.
    • Ask each student employee what type of appreciation at work they find most meaningful.
    • Individual Certificates of Appreciation listing specific accomplishments or contributions.
    • Thank you card signed by all your department staff.
    • Individual photos of your student workers posted in your department.

Group Recognition

  • Department Pot Luck
  • Attend an SRJC activity with your student workers.
  • Staff can take turns bringing food for students each day this week.
  • Culinary Café
    • Walk students over to the bakery and have them pick out their favorite treat
    • Plan lunch (call for reservations).
  • Individual Certificates of Appreciation listing specific accomplishments or contributions.
  • Thank you card signed by all your department staff.
  • Individual photos of your student workers posted in your department.

What some supervisors are doing to appreciate their student workers. . .

"We bought some inexpensive gifts (tee-shirts, movie tickets, key chains, notebooks hand lotion) at the Bookstore to give each day and have a potluck planned tomorrow. That way each day they have something to look forward to. They were really excited when they came in today and saw the sign we had made for them."
