First Aid / CPR Training Resources There are many agencies and organizations that offer courses in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid. The American Heart Association, American Red Cross and the National Safety Council set the standards for these courses forth. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Courses Available CPR courses for the general publics are designed in different formats: Adult, Child and Infant, and Community CPR (includes adult, child and infant CPR skills). Training in the use of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) also may be included. Basic Life Support is a course developed for individuals who are required to provide CPR as a function of their employment (i.e. Police Officers, Fire-fighters, EMT, Paramedic, RN, etc.). There are many agencies that provide fee-based classes for this training, as well as private instructors that will offer courses upon request.
