Public Safety Health Requirements A physical training waiver must be signed before beginning the program. There are no specific health requirements for the Corrections Training Program, but full immunizations are recommended for all participants. Click on Clinical Services for additional information. Proof of freedom from active Tuberculosis is required. To satisfy this requirement you may receive a Tuberculosis Skin Test (PPD). If the skin test is positive, a negative chest x-ray within the past year is needed and evaluation for active disease. You must provide proof of immunity of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) by documentation of having had the disease, proof of two MMR vaccines given one month apart after the age of one, or a positive titer. There are birth date specific requirements for this vaccine, click on MMR for more information. A Health Evaluation Form must be completed within the last 6 months before entering the program. Currently, Student Health Services does not provide physicals for students. If you need a provider to obtain an exam, click on Sonoma County Health Centers - Physical Exams for more information. Entering students must have a current certification card for adult, child, and infant CPR. The Hepatitis B series, consisting of three vaccines, must be completed or in progress prior to beginning clinical experience. Proof of freedom from active Tuberculosis is required.
