The Drug Abuse Alternatives Center - DAACDrug Alcohol Treatment Center California - Drug Abuse Alternatives Center is one of the largest and oldest drug and alcohol abuse prevention and treatment organizations in Northern California. DAAC's mission is to reduce the negative impact of alcohol and other drug use upon individuals, families, schools and our community. We work to solve the problems associated with chemical dependency which endanger the health, safety and stability of people in our community. We are a private, non profit organization that has been providing alcohol and other drug abuse services since 1969, HIV services since 1986 and HCV services since 1999. Originally founded by a group of concerned citizens as a community resource, DAAC has grown into a multi-service agency now providing a wide range of treatment and prevention options at more than 30 locations in Sonoma County. Our highly successful drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs have helped thousands return to healthy, fulfilling lives. The treatment philosophy at DAAC is grounded in the belief that addiction is a progressive disease and that ultimately, abstinence is the basis of recovery from addiction. We believe in addressing the harm caused by alcohol and other drugs by providing non-judgmental education and counseling programs. Our approach is a positive one that assumes each person's ability to change their own life if given appropriate supports. Our programs seek both attitude change and action change; therefore we address knowledge, behaviors and attitudes collectively. Whenever possible, we involve families, schools and the community. DAAC is now offered for current SRJC students who are
25 years of age and younger at the Santa Rosa Campus: Plover Building, 559. All of DAAC's treatment programs are licensed and/or certified by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug programs. For additional information or questions, please contact Susan Quinn at squinn@santarosa.edu. |
