Petition to Graduate

Two StudentsTo receive an Associate in Arts and/or Associate in Science degree a student is required to submit a “Petition to Graduate.” Petitions are available in the Admissions and Records Offices (Santa Rosa and Petaluma) and should be submitted as soon as the student has registered for classes in the semester they wish to graduate. Students who wish to be considered as a Commencement speaker should submit a Petition to Graduate by April 2, 2012.

All students must graduate with an approved major. A list of approved majors and requirements is available at www.santarosa.edu/majors. Students are urged to consult a counselor with any questions about degree or major requirements. Students transferring to a university are encouraged to complete the associate degree.

Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended should be submitted as part of the graduation evaluation process. This process reviews coursework completed at SRJC and, when applicable, applies transfer college coursework to the SRJC associate degree requirements. Applicants are notified by mail of their eligibility for the degree.

The annual commencement ceremony will be held on May 26, 2012, for Summer 2011 and Fall 2011 graduates and eligible Spring 2012 degree candidates. Students eligible to participate in the ceremony will receive information from the Student Services Office in late April. The Bookstore will sell caps and gowns to participants in April.
