Graduating Students - Information you need to know!

  • 10:00 AM at the John Surryhne Outdoor Stage download PDF map
  • Reception to follow immediately

Cap & Gown
The SRJC Santa Rosa Campus Bookstore will carry caps and gowns, available April 24, for participants in the graduation ceremony. Announcements will also be available individually or in groups of ten.

ID Card
SRJC Graduation Identification Cards should be completed at the SRJC Bookstore when you purchase your cap and gown. Be sure to fill out and return. These will be used to read your name at the ceremony.

Ceremony and Lineup
The Graduation Ceremony (for which there is NO rehearsal) will be held on the campus near the outdoor stage. Participants should arrive at the fountain area west of Garcia Hall (Home Economics Building) by 9:30 AM, May 24 in your cap and gown.

Your ID cards will be returned to you as you check in on graduation day. (If you have not filled one out, be sure to do so.) Students will be asked to keep ID cards with them as they form lines along the west side of Garcia (double file) in lines extending from the Garcia Hall doorway south toward Tauzer Gym.

Diplomas
Graduates rise a row at a time, file to the front of the outdoor stage, and present their Identification Cards to the two members of the college staff who will alternate reading student names and other information from the ID card. Graduates then move across to the President of the College and the President of the Board of Trustees who will present diplomas (case only) and a handshake. Students will then continue around the rear of the platform, receive a commemorative SRJC oak seedling, and return to their seats. Ushers will be located nearby to direct students through this process, so do not be concerned. We have not lost anyone yet! If you are unable to attend the graduation ceremony your diploma will be mailed to you in late July.
