Matriculation is a state-mandated program that enhances access to the California Community Colleges and promotes and sustains the efforts of credit students to be successful in their educational endeavors. The goals of matriculation are to ensure that all students complete their college courses, persist to the next academic term, and achieve their educational objectives.
Since 1987, Matriculation at SRJC has provided students with easy access to the college's programs and services. There are seven basic components. Five of these are services provided directly to students and intended to provide equitable possibilities of student success.

Assessment
You also receive a fair and accurate assessment of your current
skill levels, abilities and interests.
Counseling
A comprehensive counseling and advising program then assists
you in establishing your educational goals and identifies support
services to achieve your goal.
Instruction
Matriculation also helps ensure our college offers the curriculum
and instructional programs to meet the needs of our students through course offerings such as study skills, overcoming math enxiety, career development, college survival, understanding the transfer process, etc.
Follow-Up
Finally, there is an aggressive follow-up program to monitor
your progress toward your educational goals and provide early
intervention if you encounter difficulties.
