SRJC Women's Water Polo Alumni
will be on FRIDAY October, 24th @ 6:30pm. The varsity women's team will be playing conference rivals, Diablo Valley at 3:30pm, the men's team will play DVC at 4:45pm and then then the pool will be open for warm up at 6pm. We hope you can attend all three games that day. Please R.S.V.P. to Coach McCormick so we know who will be attending. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the pool.
This year's alumni game was an exciting battle (11-10 OT) between a young and talented 2007 squad and a strong and experienced alumni squad including five former All American Bear Cubs. The day started out with a varsity team victory over rival Foothill College (8-6). After the win, the varsity, alumni, friends and family enjoyed a BBQ and stories from the past. Once everyone had digested, warm-ups began and an epic battle between young and "old" was enjoyed by all. We are hoping to establish a contact/emailing list of Bear Cub Women's Water Polo Alumni to help keep you posted on the current teams, alumni games, and other special fundraising events. Please help us reach out to any other former teammates of yours, so that we may continue to build our list. SRJC continues to produce strong teams year after year, but California collegiate athletics have been hit hard in recent years due to massive state budget cuts, and our water polo teams now have to spend a significant amount of time fundraising to help support our transportation, lodging, and equipment costs. Any donation amount of time, money, and/or materials will help to keep the legacy of this program going strong.
