The Santa Rosa Junior College Women's Swim and Dive Team are the 2004 and 2005
BACK-TO-BACK CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONS
This season the Bear Cub women
broke 7 school
records, including setting a new State Record in the 200 Medley Relay, and four national champions. Head Coach Jill McCormick was also named California Community College Coach of the Year both this season and last. The
SRJC Swim and Dive Team has been in existence
nearly 30 years including numerous state champions and team titles. We compete
in the California Community Colleges League. We belong to the Big Seven
Conference, giving us a great slate of dual meets, rivalries, and a
Conference Championship Meet. We have a
strong women's team that consistently attracts swimmers and divers
at the national level as well as athletes willing to improve to that level.
During our recent seasons we have won two state titles and consistently finished in the top three at our conference meet, including many All American and All Academic student- athletes. In the past two years, our team has broken 19 school records, and we continue to compete at a top level against the other
teams in the state. Coach McCormick
recruits athletes who not only demonstrate a high level of teamwork,
focus, and discipline in the pool and in the classroom, but who also
like to have fun with their team and enjoy competition.
