Check out out on Facebook.
The SRJC Women's Swim and Dive Team enter the 2014 season with high expectations after winning four California Community College State Titles in the last ten years. The Cubs 2014 squad is led by returning All Americans team captain Allison Straus (Cardinal Newman HS), Erin Sullivan (Mongtomery HS), Mindi Perez (Princeton HS); as well as by team captain, Casey Cook (Analy HS). Key incoming freshmen include: Miranda Howell (Neptune Swimming), Ashley Boyle (Analy HS), Michelle Spratt (Rancho Cotate HS), as well as a three new divers including former NBL steand out, Savannah Moen. In 2013 Alexandria Holland set both school and state records and was named Big 8 Confernece Female Swimmer of the Year. In the past 11 seasons, the Bear Cub women
have broken 36 school records, produced 27 state champions, 14 national champions, and set five new CA Community College state records. Head Coach Jill McCormick has also been named California Community College Coach of the Year in 2012, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2005, and 2004. Recently, between our men’s and women’s teams, we have had over 60 swimmers and divers transfer on scholarship to the four-year level, 30 of which have been to Division I schools. The
SRJC Swim and Dive Team has been in existence over
30 years including numerous state champions and team titles. We compete
for the California Community Colleges Athletic Association. We belong to the Big Eight
Conference, arguably the strongest conference in the state, giving us a great slate of dual meets, rivalries,
very fast Conference Championship Meet. We have a strong women's program that consistently attracts swimmers and divers
at the national level as well as athletes willing to improve to that level.
During our recent seasons we have won three conference titles, including many All American and All Academic student- athletes. Coach McCormick
recruits athletes who not only demonstrate a high level of teamwork,
focus, and discipline in the pool and in the classroom, but who also
like to have fun with their team and enjoy competition.
