The SRJC Varsity Men’s Swim and Dive Team successfully took their third Big 8 Conference Title in the past four years. Sophomore captain Matt Stuhr was awarded “Outstanding Performance of the Meet” for winning 200 Free and 200 Fly setting
new Big 8 Meet and SRJC school records. Freshman Sean Malley also set Big 8 Meet and SRJC school records in
the 100 Back with a time of 51.45. Sophomore Dan Crase claimed the fourth individual Big 8 individual title by winning the 200 Back, and Coach Jill McCormick was again named the Big 8 Men’s Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year. After a very impressive effort at the conference meet. The Cubs came out swinging again and dominated the competition at the CCCAA State Finals in southern 
California. SRJC managed to capture four individual state titles (Matt Stuhr 500 Free & 200 Fly, Devon Jones 50 Free, and Trent Williams 100 Fly), as well as set a new STATE RECORD in the 200 Free Relay. Team members Stuhr, Jones, Malley, and Williams won the relay on the first night of competition. SRJC finished third overall at the stat finals, making it the fourth year in a row the Cubs have finished in the top five in CA. This impressive effort included four state titles, a new state record, 11 All Americans, 3 Academic All Americans, 10 All Conference Athletes, and 7 new school records.
