3rd in STATE 2008

State Shot

The SRJC Men's Swim and Dive Team entered the 2008 season with their largest team in school history. The team returned All American's William LaBarge, Jesse Ozanian, and Zach Thomas. The Cubs also had a very competitive frosh class of swimmers and divers including All American's Walter Gault, Tyler Hannis, and Philip Boitano. SRJC finished third at the California Community College State Championships after previously finishing 9th, 10th, 5th, and 2nd in the past four years. The Cubs also won the Big 8 Conference Championship title as well. In the past five years the Bear Cub men have broken 19 school records. The Santa Rosa Junior College Swim and Dive Team has been in existence for 30 years including numerous state champions and team titles. We compete in the California Community Colleges League. We belong to the Big Eight Conference, arguabley one of the strongest conferences in the state, giving us a great slate of dual meets, rivalries, and a very fast Conference Championship Meet. We have a strong men's program that consistently attracts swimmers and divers at the national level as well as athletes willing to improve to that level. During our recent seasons we have placed in the top three in our conference and the top five at state, including many All American athletes. Our team consistently breaks records and continues to compete at a top level against other teams in the state. Coach McCormick recruits athletes who not only demonstrate a high level of teamwork, focus, and discipline in the pool and in the classroom, but who also like to have fun with their team and enjoy competition.
