SRJC Men's Swimming & Diving Alumni

ALUMNI MEET The 9th Annual Alumni Meet will be held on Friday April 4th, 2014 @ 5:30pm. The 2014 Varsity Team will be competing in a dual meet against Sierra College in the morning at 11am. All alumni are encouraged to come to that meet and swim and dive with us in the evening. There will be a BBQ tri-tip dinner served at the conclusion of the alumni meet, so please contact Head Coach Jill McCormick if you are planning on coming. As many of you know, we tragically and suddenly lost our long time diving coach, Tim Nobriga in February. We will be paying tribute to him and his wife Sue at the alumni meet, so we especially encourage all Bear Cub Divers past and present to attend the alumni meet. ALUMNI REGISTRATION Please download this form Alumni Registration (PDF), complete it and email it to Coach McCormick, or fax/mail it to the athletic office. If you have any questions, please contact Coach McCormick at 707-527-4369 or email her at

We are just beginning to collect an official data base of the hundreds of swimmers and divers that have been a part of this outstanding program. We are hoping to establish a contact/emailing list of Bear Cub Swimming Alumni to help keep you posted on the current teams, alumni swim meets, and other special fundraising events. Please help us reach out to any other former teammates of yours, so that we may continue to build our list.

SRJC continues to produce strong teams year after year, but California collegiate athletics have been hit hard in recent years due to massive state budget cuts, and our swimming and diving teams now have to spend a significant amount of time fundraising to help support our transportation, lodging, and equipment costs. Any donation amount of time, money, and/or materials will help to keep the legacy of this program going strong. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to our program, you can do so by downloading the above form.

We also are responsible for recruiting meet officials and volunteers (i.e. timers, score keepers, etc.) to help us run all of our home meets each season. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Coach McCormick.

Thanks again for your former involvement and continued support of SRJC Swimming and Diving.

Tim NobrigaIn Memory of Diving Coach Tim

Tim Nobriga (1951-2011)

On February 14th, 2011, beloved SRJC Diving Coach, Tim Nobriga, past away after suffering a heart attack. Tim was one month into his 37th season coaching the Bear Cub Divers at the time of his death. Tim joined the SRJC Swim & Dive coaching staff in 1974 and never left. He has been Sonoma County and California Community College diving for nearly 40 years and he will be desperately missed by the hundreds of athletes and colleagues he worked with over the seasons. The SRJC Varsity Men's Swim & Dive Team are dedicating their 2011 season to the strong yet quiet man who dedicated his life to us. Click on the below links for more information on Tim Nobriga's life and his career at SRJC.
