Santa Rosa
Junior College Men's Golf Team has enjoyed a fine tradition of excellence over the past decade, in addition to producing championship teams, we have developed many top amateurs. The 2012 team, with Coach David Herrington and Assistant Brad Muster, won the Big 8 Conference with an individual average score of 75.2 and qualified for the Northern California Regional Championship at Diablo Grande Resort and Golf Club in Patterson, California. Of the 6 qualified teams, SRJC finished 2nd with an average score of 74.7 and moved on to the California Community College State Championship. The State Championship was held at Santa Maria Country Club, in Santa Maria, California where SRJC finished 3rd in the state with an average score of 73.6. The 2012 State Championship included the top 2 teams from the north, Santa Rosa Junior College and Chabot College, and the top 2 teams from the south, College of the Canyon and College of the Desert.
The Bear Cubs home course Windsor Golf Club, the host of six PGA Nike Tour events will be used again for the 2013 season. The 2013 season will be led by returning sophomores Patrick Steiner, Tucker Williams, and Nicolas Daniels. With the potential provided by a solid group of incoming freshmen, Julian Landen (Montgomery), Zachary Sims (Napa), Steven Staples (Vacaville), AJ Martinez (Marin Catholic) and Travis Evans (Eureka), the sites have been set to continue our winning ways of the SRJC Bear Cubs.
