Softball Field
The
softball field is located on the south side of the Santa Rosa Campus between
Haehl Pavilion and Cook Sypher Baseball Field. Off Armory Drive, parking is
available for $2.00 along Bear Cub Drive, with spectator access through the
south facing gate. Future renovations may include a new field, complete with
dugouts, batting cages, scoreboard, and press box, as well as new bleachers,
restrooms, and a concession stand for fans.
Tennis Courts
The
varsity men's and women's tennis teams play their home matches on a well maintained
eight court facility located on the central campus. The courts have a concrete
base covered by an acrylic surface. Care has been taken to resurface the courts
on an average of every five years, resulting in a medium-slow playing surface.
Training Room
A major renovation of the sports medicine facility in
2000 resulted in a premier 3,000 square foot, well-facilitated learning environment.
It includes a private examination room, a student and staff computer resource
room, a private office, a hydro room, separate areas for prophylactic taping,
treatment and evaluation, rehabilitation, bathroom with shower and a lockable
storage room. The room is equipped with electrical modalities, whirlpools,
ice machine, and an assortment of assessment/treatment tables.
A professional
staff of three Certified Athletic Trainers and a talented staff of student
trainers provide the quality care needed in day-to-day injury management.
The training room also serves as a classroom and lab for our Sports Medicine
Mastery Certificate Program.
Tauzer Weight Room
Santa
Rosa Junior College is home to one of the top weight training and fitness centers
in the nation. The weight/fitness room is the size of a basketball court,
in fact it was the lady bear Cub's home court in the College' s early years.
This facility is used for weight training, power lifting,
curcuit training, and bicycle spin classes and is usually packed from 7:00
AM to 9:00 PM. The weight room alone has something for every hard core lifter:
hammer strength, flex, cybex machines and olympic plates, dumbells and barbells
The students and athletes at SRJC have a number of workout options in this
center, including stair steppers, tread mills and spin cycles. In addition,
this center has state of the art adaptive machines for wheel chair students.
Tauzer 958, The Mat Room
The wrestling room is located upstairs on the east side of the Tauzer complex, adjacent to the outdoor pool of the Quinn Swim Center. The mat room is 40' x 60' with wall-to-wall Resilite 500 mats. The interior walls are covered with mats up to five feet in height.
The room is equipped with two heavy punching bags
that can be raised and lowered as needed, as well as two speed bags. In addition,
there are two 20' climbing ropes and a 32-hole pegboard for climbing. Ample
natural light fills the room while two ceiling fans aid in ventilation. A
stereo system is in place to allow cassette tapes and compact disks to be
played.
