Discussion:

Web Page Update
Raoul invited all to review the website and come back with ideas about how to use the website to publicize.  Michelle will announce the website at the next Classified meeting, and invite everyone to view the WOW! Page as a work in progress.  Jane and Elona want a continuous flow of more and new ideas - all will be welcomed!  Jane noted it is not necessary to be a classified employee to have a submission to share.  Raoul noted that in his address to the board, he made particular mention of Cornell's contributions via the website.  If you look at many Community Colleges across the state, it becomes evident that we were used as their template.  The board recognized many other colleges used Cornell's ideas as a springboard for their own.  Cornell shared the gift he was presented by the senate.  Congratulations, Cornell!

Recognition Week (publicity, theme, dates for events)

The dinner date has been set.
Classified Senate would like to solicit ideas for a theme for the Spring Classified Recognition Week.

        Appreciating Excellence
        Getting to Know You
        Recognize Us!
Give Yourself a Pat on the Back
        A Tolerant People
        Still Hanging in There!
        Surviving and Thriving
Publicity items:
Send out nomination forms to Classified Staff
        Raoul send letter out.
Send out an electronic flyer announcing that the Board approved
Classified Recognition Week for the week of April 5, 2004 through April 9, 2004.
Memorial Circle: We will be including this into our Classified Recognition Week at which time we plan to add more names to the plaques. We are soliciting ideas as to how we can integrate this into our week.

Petaluma would like to have their own reception during Classified Recognition, Some discussion also whether Windsor have their own.

Sub-Committee Report: Scholarship Fundraiser: George Sutherland gave a report regarding “Cook-off” fundraiser.  He spoke with Darlene, from Highfeather; she would like to be a consultant.  He also spoke with Deanne Moore who would also like to be a liaison.  Raoul spoke with Steve Cohen who has food and restaurant experience, he is willing to lend us his expertise.  This event is still in the planning stages. Logistics still need to be worked out along with themes and food entry items.  Raoul suggested that the Sub-Committee meet again, along with Darlene, Deanne and other participants.
