Arts/Crafts/Theater
If your work at SRJC involves:
- Visual or Performing Arts
- Crafts
- Gallery or Museum work
- Photography or
- the Shops supporting these activities at SRJC
A variety of occupational health and safety issues may apply to you.
Depending on the materials, equipment, and activities involved, you may need specific safety training to understand and protect yourself, your co-workers, and the environment from hazards typically found in arts and crafts studios, shops, and theaters. The Arts & Crafts page of the Safety Training Mandate will guide you to EH&S training resources for the kind of work you do.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
SRJC faculty, staff, students, and visitors have a right to a safe, healthy work environment. Campus activities must be performed safely, as described in the campus Injury & Illness Prevention Program. All SRJC faculty, staff, students, guests and volunteers must follow safety guidelines. SRJC personnel must also understand their responsibilities under Injury & Illness Prevention plan.
Hazardous Materials
If your shop or studio uses hazardous materials or generates hazardous waste, you are required to implement a Hazardous Materials Management Plan.
What do you need to know to work safely?
