Training and Information


There are several training modules available for use by SRJC students, faculty, and staff. Most training modules are PowerPoint presentations and are designed to provide training on sexual harassment. Informational modules include many topics, including sexual harassment, how to avoid discrimination in hiring, and DFEH and SJRC policy statements.

Discrimination - A 42-slide PowerPoint training required by Title 5 for individuals who serve on hiring committees. Viewing time is approximately 25 minutes.

Preventing Harassment in the Academic Workplace - A 72-slide PowerPoint training that gives an in-depth overview of sexual harassment training and policies. Viewing time is approximately 40 minutes.

Harassment Short Course A 33-slide PowerPoint training offering an overview and refresher for individuals who wish to remain current on sexual harassment laws and policies. Viewing time is approximately 20 minutes.

Preventing Harassment - An updated short course for individuals who wish to maintain and refresh their expertise on sexual harassment. This 54-slide PowerPoint course was updated for the 2007-08 academic year and takes about 30 minutes to view.

Hiring Questions - A pdf file that contains a list of suggested questions and areas of inquiry that are appropriate for use in the hiring process. This pdf file takes approximately 10 minutes to read, and is a product of

Avoid These Questions - A one-page Word document that contains categories of questions to avoid during the hiring process.

Definitions of Sexual Harassment - A two-page Word document that contains information from the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Education Code, as well as federal statues (Title IX and Title VII) and court decisions.

Discrimination and Harassment - A one-page pdf file, a notice from the Department of Fair Housing and Employment (DFEH) about prohibited acts.

Sexual Harassment Notice - A two-page Word document that is a statement of SRJC policies.

Quiz - A chance to see how savvy you are on the issue of sexual harassment. This three-page Word document includes 20 questions that test your understanding of an often confusing topic. If you cannot figure out the answers, contact the District Compliance Office at 527-4954.

Notice of Nondiscrimination - The SRJC policy statement about compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding nondiscriminantion.


To file a formal discrimination or harassment complaint, fill out the Complaint Form (Word doc) and send or bring it to the District Compliance Office.
