Each year the Classified Senate awards a scholarship to a continuing Santa Rosa Junior College student in in honor of a former outstanding employee, Pat Tognozzi who passed away in 1999.
The criteria for the scholarship is as follows:
The student must be a relative of a classified staff member.
The student must have a 2.50 GPA.
The student must be enrolled in 9 or more units each semester
The student must show that he/she has leadership qualities and must have participated in community service/activities.
The Pat Tognozzi Scholarship is awarded at the Classified Recognition Dinner, which is held during the Spring semester.
The scholarship is supported by donations from private parties and from fundraising efforts of the Classified Senate, such as the Classified Senate Cookbook. The cookbook contains recipes submitted by various classified staff.
Another item that is available for purchase in support of our scholarship, added as of April 2005, Art Show postcards, featuring artwork from the Classified Employees Art Show. See below for more information.

ART WORKS Note-cards Fund Raiser
As part of the ART WORKS event this week, the Classified Senate is selling note cards, with work from six of the artists in the show (see attachment). The proceeds of the cards will benefit the Pat Tognozzi Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship annually to a SRJC student who is related to a classified staff member.
The cards will be on sale at the Art Works reception this evening, as well as at the Recognition and Awards Dinner tomorrow evening,

Cost of cards are $12.00 for a packet of six.
The work has all be done by classified staff, from the artists to our Graphics Department who did a wonderful shop of printing.
