Whereas Wednesday, September 11, 2002 will be the first anniversary
of the attacks on the United States, in New York City, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, and Whereas, this past year has changed the lives of Americans and that we reflect as a College Community to discuss hope and develop inspiration for the future, and, Therefore: be it resolved, that on May 17, 2002, the Classified Senate at Santa Junior College, designates Wednesday, September 11, 2002 as a day of contemplation, discussion and reflection for our entire College Community, and that we encourage all Classified Staff to actively participate this day with all members of our College Community and actively support the special activities, and that the Classified Senate joins the Board of Trustees, the Academic Senate and the Associated Students in developing a positive advantage of remembering September 11th and what this will forever mean to the people of the United States of America, as we move forward. |
