Brown-Bag Series Evaluation

¨Do publicity more in advance

¨Let presenters see publicity

¨Some of programs would be better in Fall

¨Future Ideas include “How to Buy a Computer” (Rich Abrahams), “Becoming Camera

Ready” (Mike Garcia), “Making Your PDA Work For You.” “How to Buy a

Computer” should be done during the staff buying period.

¨Great to hear industry side

¨Very successful and well attended (#1, 15-20 people; #2, 15-20 people; #3, 12-15

people; #4, 25-30 people)

District Resource Project (Database Project)

Will have meeting on May 2 at 2:30pm with 2 database experts. Will discuss what it will take to digitize the project and interface with the web. Next steps include proposal for funding and scope of budget.

Instructional Computing Issues

Survey due April 7^th (oops! Already passed). Feet are dragging.

Brainstorming for Next Year

¨Look at Technology II compliance plan

¨Recruiting PDA speakers

¨Field Trip to Pixar, Lucas or other relevant company.

¨Connect with Brenda FlyswithHawks about Academic Senate appointees

¨Set goals for yr. 01/01 and assign in subcommittees

¨Contact employers to see what computer skills they want in their new employees.

Should this be a Departmental Project? Maybe it should be a needs assessment of the

community needs with technology emphasis.
