EDUCATIONAL PLANNING & COORDINATING COUNCIL
Minutes of December 14, 2000
3:15 PM
Senate Chambers
ATTENDING: Ed Buckley, Warren Ruud, Stephanie Thompson, Karen Kellam, McCulloch, Joan Scarborough, Rosemary Ward
GUEST: Freyja Pereira
1. Minutes of November 9, 2000
Approved
2. Academic Senate Report
Rosemary Ward reported that the GE Task Force proposal regarding course distribution was not approved; that a faculty evaluation draft is being forwarded to DTREC; and that a resolution was passed in support of classified staff.
3. Final Exam Policy
Ed Buckley distributed the existing policy, which is in need of revision. The Senate has asked EPCC to develop draft changes.
Buckley will return to EPCC with a proposal for a task force to work on it.
4. Academic Integrity Policy
The policy was reviewed; EPCC endorsed the language, which was revised this fall in College Council.
Rosemary Ward will communicate this to the Academic Senate.
5. "Look-Up Menu" Implementation
Discussion focused on the need for access to information and the need to maintain privacy of certain student and faculty information. Currently the Look-Up Menu on CWIS seems to have some information that could have wide access and other information that should be more protected than it is.
Ed Buckley to discuss with AAC; Rosemary Ward to discuss with Student Services.
6. Update on CR/NCR Limitation
Deferred until January meeting.
7. "Certificate" Residency Requirements
Buckley to take to AAC and Department Chair/Managers for discussion.
8. Update on Implementation of "Transfer AA" Degree
This is being handled in A & R without reference to a special degree or major. Rather, the transfer GE pattern is now considered another alternative to the standard AA pattern. Later when a "Transfer" major is developed along with other majors, it will presumably require that all 60 units are at the transfer level.
Committee Membership
