1. American Cultures Requirement Revisions

Update from Senate – Karin Guzman

Karen Guzman announced that the Academic Senate had approved the inclusion of ethnic studies courses into the American Cultures requirement, on the recommendation of the Behavioral Sciences Department.

2. Special Admission of K-12 Students – Ed Buckley/Ricardo Navarrette

Richard Speakes described the advising and interviewing process the English Department has gone through for high school students seeking to enroll in English 355, and voiced the department's concerns about admitting such students. Sherri Arendt shared feedback from her meetings with high school representatives regarding our "enrichment" procedures and practices. There was considerable discussion. EPCC will return to this topic. It was suggested that the College articulate English 355 with designated high schools, via college and high school English faculty.

3. P4E Goals Projections–Ed Buckley

This item will be discussed at the first meeting of the Spring semester. Committee members should review the attached document prior to the next meeting (January 27).
