BOARD OF TRUSTEES

FACILITIES COMMITTEE

November 6, 2001

Minutes

Present: Trustee Burdo, Trustee Call, Trustee Zumwalt, Curt Groninga, Jay Carpenter and Ron Root

Absent: Robert F. Agrella, Luann Campbell, Ricardo Navarrette

Closed Session: No reportable actions taken

Open Session:

1. Public Safety Training Center Update: The project is due to be completed on or about December 20th, approximately five (5) weeks ahead of schedule. Project change orders remain low thus allowing the College to pay for required governmental fees from the project.

2. Public Safety Training Center Street Names: Board members selected four (4) street names for the PSTC per the Town of Windsor's Public Safety Division's request. Names selected include: Freedom Way, Justice Way, Range Road and Village Way.

  1. L.G. Firing Range Demolition Project: The County is reviewing the proposed termination

agreement allowing for the County's use of the firing range upon the College's abandonment of the site. The College will, through state hazardous materials removal funds, complete an environmental clean-up and return the property to mutually acceptable conditions.

4. Library Project (Santa Rosa): The project architects are engaged in the preliminary design process with a goal of submitting the drawings and cost estimate to the State by April 2002. The scope and size of the project will remain as originally presented for State funding.

5. Shone Farm Facilities (Richard L. Thomas) Update: The site work bid has been let and construction will commence by November 15th. A total project completion date of January 15th is still achievable.

6. Restoration of Scheduled Maintenance Funds: The College received thirty-seven (37%) of previously approved deferred maintenance funds. The Director of Facilities Operations and the Vice President for Administrative Services will select projects which can be funded under the limited amount of available funds.

7. Culinary Arts Brickyard Project Update: BFC reviewed project costs and decided that the project should receive authorization to proceed at the December Board meeting.

  1. Baker Hall Planning Update: The architect's planning proposal has been reviewed by College staff and the proposed contract is under review by legal counsel.
