Open Session:
1. Construction Wrap-Around Insurance: Jerry Windom and Ron Martin (Keenan Associates) provided an overview of the advantages of construction wrap-around insurance thus covering the college, its contractors and sub-contractors more completely. BFC will further research this item.
2. Agriculture Pavilion: Steve Olson, Robert Fraser and Jim Porter provided an overview on the expanded development of the AG Pavilion that would be inclusive for all agriculture programs at Shone Farm. Further planning discussions will take place and the proposal will come back to BFC for further consideration.
3. Press Box: The phase I installation is complete. Signage honoring Larry Bertolini will be added within a few weeks. Phase II including the disabled access elevator and bleacher improvements will commence in the near future.
4. Los Guilucos Hazardous Materials Removal Project: The final inspection by the Santa Rosa Fire Department, County of Sonoma and SRJC staff is complete. Final punch list items have been identified and it is anticipated that the firing range could be turned over to the County on or about November 1st.
5. Culinary Arts at the Brickyard: This project is nearing completion and should be ready for occupation by 10/15/02. A number of details are nearing completion.
6. Space Planning: Michael Maas has completed his enrollment analysis and has developed a few preliminary recommendations related to scheduling and classroom measurement designed to enhance the college's eligibility for increased state funding.
7. Parking Analysis: The consultant's preliminary report is due in late October.
8. Baker Hall Remodel: This project should commence bidding by October 15th with an expected bid opening prior to the November Board meeting. Actual construction would not commence much before December 1st.
9. Facilities Condition Analysis: 3DI has provided a preliminary review of the College's Facilities Condition. The program will be installed in staff computers (Facilities Operations and Administrative Services) by November 1st.
10. Joint Meeting City Schools and SRJC: A joint BFC meeting for City Schools and SRJC was held in mid-September. Both educational entities agreed to collaborate on a number of facilities related topics (parking, new facilities siting, joint use ventures, etc). Both entities were encouraged that the continued positive relationships will only increase.
11. Board Items: Curt Groninga and Jay Carpenter explained the necessity of both the Brickyard and LG Firing Range Change Orders.
