OPEN SESSION:
1) Race Health Sciences Building Update---Curt reported that bids will be opened on March 16th. He suggested the Board may wish to consider the possibility of a special Board meeting in late March.
2) Lighting Retrofit Project---Jay Carpenter reviewed financing plan and project scope with the BFC. It was agreed that Administrative Services and Business Services will meet to further explore options.
3) Emeritus Remodel Phase II---Jay and Curt reviewed scope of the project with BFC. Dr. Agrella asked that this be brought back for further discussion in March in light of the timing of possible receipt of scheduled maintenance funds for this project which needs to commence June 1st.
4) Bech Lot Paving Proposal---Jay presented Terry Stewart’s request that we commence design for the repaving of the Bech lot. BFC agreed to proceed with this project which will be funded from the Parking Fund.
Estimated cost is $180,000.
5) Criminal Justice Training Center Final Project Proposal---Curt and Alan Butler (TLCD) provided a thorough review of this project and noted changes in scope from previous plans. FPP has been submitted to Chancellor’s Office. The College will be required to fund at least $1,400,000 ($550,000 of which will be from parking fund). The project as submitted and reviewed meets all EIR requirements and State requirements. Curt expects funds to be released for drawings in mid-summer 1998.
6) Barnett Hall Remodel Project---Curt and Jay provided an update on this project which will move ESL into OSA approved space. Work is under way and should be completed by late April. The plan is then to move Computing Services’ telecommunications staff from Bussman and have the instructional program retrieve the laboratory which telecommunications currently occupies.
7) ADA Barrier Removal Project---Curt and Jay advised BFC as to the progress (throughout the campus) of this project. It is hoped that it will be complete by mid-summer.
8) 1997-98 Scheduled Maintenance Projects---Curt and Jay reviewed the progress and completion of ten 1997-98 scheduled maintenance projects and indicated much more were to come during balance of 97/98 and 98/99.
