The most popular question I am asked is "what is the job market like?". This is a valid question that is difficult to answer. Before you make the decision to enter the training program visit the links listed above.

Local Job Boards
This section gives you a taste of what is available locally. Remember that many jobs are never advertised so don't be discouraged if there is not a long list of jobs when you check.

WWW Job Boards
This can give you a bigger picture of the job market. As you pull up jobs make a list of the skills you see mentioned over and over. Don't be discouraged if the jobs ask for more skills than you have or require experience. Companies often ask for more than they are willing to accept

Job Placement
In this section of the site I review the types of emplyment options available to graduates of the certification program and shares stories of student who are currently employed in the field.

Statistics
This page contains links to salary calculators. The figures will be lower for Sonoma County, however you can begin to see what the job titles are, and what the salary range is. This section is useful for students who are on a job training program and need to present statistics for a grant or education plan.

Articles
Read about the Web Development industry. This page contains articles which discuss the basics of a Web Development team and also provide tips for online job searches. Many students express an interest in becoming a freelance contractor or creating a start-up company. There are articles which deal with this subject on this page.

Interviews
For years I have been collecting interviews with computer professionals in Sonoma County. Read some of the Web professionals interviews to get an idea of what a "typical day" in the Web industry is like.

Finally I have a few links which may help you begin to get a picture of the Web industry.
