I see that CIS 99i can be substititued for CIS 58.54 or CIS 58.55. How does this work?

CIS 99i is an internship course. Our training program emphasizes "hands on" experience. The Web Content course (CIS 58.54) and Business of Web (CIS 58.55) are courses which allow students to work in teams to design sites for non profit organizations in Sonoma County. Some students substitute an internship for one or both of these courses.

This system works well for students who are already working in the Web development field and want to earn units for work they are currently doing on the job.

Another approach is to enroll in an Internship after completing one or both of the CIS courses. When applying for an internship it is essential that you have mastered the skills reguired by the intern employer.

We encourage students to consider CIS 99i as an option when completing the certificate. For more information on the internship process contact
