Web Design: Building an Idea

CIS web design curriculum ranges from classes in web authoring programs like GoLive and Dreamweaver to a complete certificate program for students wishing to enter the field of web site design, graphics production and development.

The beginning web user desiring to create a simple home page may want to explore Adobe GoLive, Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Serious web design students will start with the popular classes of CIS 58.51A/B to design web pages with HTML and then choose to explore curriculum such as web graphics, developing an electronic portfolio, and the business of website production.

Advanced web coursework includes Flash, using JavaScript, and Active Server Pages. Many of these courses lead to CIS web design certificates in the areas of web content developer, web graphics designer, and Perl, Java, and JavaScript programmer.
