Adobe InDesign Certification
The role of the desktop publisher is to combine text and graphics together into finished products, which include printed works and PDF files. Sample documents include everything from business cards to books, fliers to brochures, and reports to advertisements, from print to web. Adobe InDesign is a high-end desktop publishing program geared towards professional and/or advanced users.
Although this is not a career certificate, this award will enhance the recipient's value in the job market. Desktop publishing is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as one of the fastest growing occupations in the years 2000-2010 and requires only a Postsecondary vocational award.
This certificate prepares the student for the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) industry exam in InDesign. In addition to the preparation provided by this certificate, desktop publishers should also have a good understanding of design, layout, typography, and color. A good desktop publisher is detail oriented and creative.
