Office Application Courses
The focus of the CIS Microsoft office application classes is to explore
the features and functions of the programs. The audience is the general
computer user. Specific uses such as accounting or business correspondence
are taught in other SRJC departments.
Very beginning students should take CIS 101A, PC’s for New Users
to learn basic computer operations and concepts. This course includes
a brief introduction to Microsoft Word.
CIS 74.11 is a survey of the main office applications; Word, Excel,
Access, Powerpoint and Outlook.
CIS 63.11 and CIS 69.11 offer a full semester
of in depth coverage of Excel and Access.
