Graphics/Desktop Publishing Courses
The CIS department is an Adobe Certified Training Provider. Instruction in Adobe graphics software is led by instructors who have passed rigorous ACE industry exams. The focus of CIS classes in graphics, multimedia and desktop publishing is to explore the features of the program for the general user — art, design and pre-press skills are taught in other departments at SRJC.

Beginning graphics students should consider CIS 173.11 Adobe Graphics Sampler to both learn important graphics concepts and survey popular Adobe graphics programs. CIS also offers 8-hour exploration classes in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. When new versions of software are introduced, look for short classes designed specifically to upgrade your skills.

CIS is proud of its popular series of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator classes. Many of these courses lead to several CIS Adobe certificates and map to ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) industry exams. We also offer courses in Web Graphics which allow students to improve the look of their Web sites or purse a career in Web Design. Other courses lead to a certificate in general multimedia.
