Specialist Certificate
Adobe Applications Specialist Certificate
This is a comprehensive study preparing the student for a career in
desktop publishing, including the preparation of graphics and PDF files,
font management, and operating system basics. The student will study
Photoshop, Illustrator, desktop publishing and Acrobat in addition to
font management and bi-platform operating system skills.
Although this is not a career certificate, this award will enhance the
recipient's value in the job market. Desktop publishing is recognized
by
the U.S. Department of Labor as one of the fastest growing occupations
in the years 2000-2010 and requires only a Postsecondary vocational
award. In addition to the preparation provided by this certificate,
desktop publishers should also have a good understanding of design,
layout, typography, and color. A good desktop publisher is detail
oriented and creative.
