What About The Web Training Prgram?

Website 101 is sponsored by the Web Training Program. This program is a part of the Computer and Information Sciences department.

The Web Development Training Program at Santa Rosa Junior College has the following program goals.

  1. Provide students with the skills to succeed in the field of web
    site design and development.
  2. Provide local employers with well-trained entry level employees.
  3. Set standards of achievement for computer professionals who
    work in web development.
  4. Develop a common terminology regarding job titles and their
    required competencies.

With that in mind, his specific Web site was implemented as a vehicle for exploring the Web planning and production process. Each semester students involved in the Web training program work in teams to develop sites for non-profit organizations. This hands on experience has provided numerous "learning experiences" we would like to share with the Internet community. In addition we would like to explore the planning and production process of the local sites in out community. Finally we would like to interview local web development firms regarding how they address the planning and production process.

This site focuses on successful strategies for planning the Web site with a secondary emphasis on the technical aspects of production.
