This course provides an opportunity:
* To learn techniques and curriculum appropriate for young children
* To learn how to apply this information with children (9 hours per week for 60.2
lab, 3 hrs. per week for 60.1)
Experience can be gained at our on-campus Children's Centers between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily.
Infant/Toddler/Two's Program and Preschool Program
You are required to work a minimum of 9 hours (for 60.2) in either program of your choice unless you are currently teaching in a children's program. If so, you may work 6 hours on campus & do 3 hours in your own program (must be licensed).
THINGS TO REMEMBER
1.) Child 60.1 has no pre-requisites.
2.) Prerequisites with a "C" or better for Child 60/60.2 are:
4.) You must take Child 60 (lecture) concurrently with Child 60L (lab/practicum)
5.) You need to sign up for lab hours/days as soon as you register. This must happen before the semester begins. Sign up is done in the Child Development Office, in person or by phone (707) 527-4315.
5.) Lab hours begin the first week of classes.
6.) It is highly recommended that you have observed in the lab before you take Child 60/60.2. This can be done by calling the department office beforehand to make arrangements.
