Enclosed is a summary of Partnership For Excellence commitments made during the course of the 2000-01 year. The summary includes on-going base obligations plus one-time expenditures, including those identified to IPC last fall and those commitments made over the course of this academic year.

For the 2001-02 year, I have discussed with Ron Root the possibility of exploring with IPC and the Budget Advisory Committee several alternative ways in which to present the data on PFE expenditures. Currently, we tend to regard this fund as a categorical program that necessitates tracking carryover funds from prior years. However, state law and policy have been consistent in identifying PFE funds as part of the General Fund. Expenditures from the General Fund do not require the same historic tracking as do Restricted Fund expenditures.

Please place the summary of PFE expenditures on the next IPC agenda for information.
