BACKGROUND

The purpose of this proposed Reclaimed Water Agreement is to enable Santa Rosa Junior College’s Shone Farm to receive several millions of gallons of Reclaimed Water from the Town of Windsor. Important features of this agreement include the following:

  1. Shone Farm would receive nearly 32 millions of gallons of Reclaimed Water free for a thirty year period.
  2. The Town of Windsor shall provide, free of charge, an initial complement of all above ground irrigation equipment used on the Pasture, Hay and Secondary Pastures.
  3. Town of Windsor shall be responsible for all construction costs for the installation of the reclaimed water distribution system on Shone Farm.`
  4. Town of Windsor shall be responsible for all design and engineering costs of reclaimed water mains, pumps and related appurtenances on the property.
  5. Town of Windsor agrees to reimburse SRJC for the cost of construction a reclaimed water reservoir up to a capacity of 16 million gallons as an amendment to the agreement (Town of Windsor estimate is $750,000).
  6. The Town of Windsor and the College must mutually agree on the final design and construction of the Reclaimed Water Agreement.
  7. Santa Rosa Junior College will grant an underground easement to the Town of Windsor for the reclaimed water transmission lines.

The proposed agreement has been reviewed by the Board Facilities Committee and the College’s legal counsel.

That the Board of Trustees approve the Reclaimed Water Agreement with the Town of Windsor.
