BACKGROUND
The doors and lock system in Shuhaw Hall is rapidly failing. College staff has identified this as a high priority security and safety issue. This is normally a scheduled maintenance project and the College has applied for funding accordingly. However, given the extent of the problem, the College believes it cannot wait for the State review and approval process. Hence, the College is bidding the project now and will continue its attempt to secure fifty percent (50%-50%) state matching funds. It is being bid with the assumption those funds may not be forthcoming, Should they be approved, the State's estimated share of this $60,000.00 project would be $30,000.00.
BUDGET IMPACT
$60,000.00 Capital Projects (Fund 41)
ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees authorize the administration to go to bid for the Shuhaw Hall Doors and Locks Scheduled Maintenance Project.
