BACKGROUND

The existing Quinn boiler has outlived its useful life and needs replacement. The scheduled maintenance boiler replacement project cost estimate for equipment and installation is $250,000.00. The State of California will fund fifty percent (50%) which will be matched by the College at 50%. Given the long equipment fabrication lead time, the College needs to award the bid at the earliest date. The bid opening was scheduled for January 31st. If the project comes within the project budget, staff seeks Board permission to award the contract and have it ratified at the March Board meeting.

ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the award of bid for the Quinn Boiler Replacement Scheduled Maintenance Project, contingent upon the amount being within budget.
