BACKGROUND

Change Order #5 addresses five (5) specific items:

  1. Add $4,600.00 for upgrade of Category V fibre optic cable to Category VI for improved capacity.
  2. Add $8,912.00 for revised roofing design for improved longevity and maintenance.
  3. Add $2,413.00 for improved light system in entry lobby for added visibility and safety.
  4. ADD $977.00 for relocation of reclaimed water line tie-in thrustblock to SRJC side of property.
  5. ADD $3,687.00 for modifications to storm drain line to meet previously unknown site conditions discovered during excavation.

The total addition to the contract due to Change Order #5 is $20,589.00. Change Order #5, when combined with previous Change Orders #1-4 represents a net increase of $51,202.00 to the contract or four-tenths of one percent (.4%) increase to the original contract for a revised contract of $11,835,202.00. The State of California is responsible for approximately $46,081.80 (90%) of the change orders. The local share is $5,120.20.

 

BUDGET IMPACT

ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Change Order #5, in the amount of $20,589.00, for the Public Safety Training Center At Windsor Construction Project, for a revised contract price of $11,835,202.00.
