BACKGROUND
The useful life of the rubberized surface of the Blewett Track is normally seven (7) years. It has been over eight (8) years since this track has been resurfaced. In addition to the normal resurfacing, minor modifications to the track layout will be made to comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) standards such as revising the radius of the south turn to adjust the length of the track from the current 400 yard configuration to the NCAA-required standard of 400 meters. Also some necessary drainage improvements and resurfacing of the pole vault and highjump runways are to be made.
As with most projects of this type, the State of California does not provide scheduled maintenance funds.

$100,000.00 Capital Projects (Fund 41)
ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees authorize the administration to go to bid for the Blewett Track Resurfacing Project.
