BACKGROUND

Santa Rosa Junior College owns the 13.76 acre parcel (035-141-012) commonly known as a portion of the old Navy Base. The City of Santa Rosa is proposing to acquire certain property interests in connection with the City of Santa Rosa’s South Wright Road Pedestrian Path Improvements Project. This project is intended to improve safety conditions for pedestrian traffic which includes a number of school age children. A portion of the College’s property is within the project area. The property interest the City wishes to acquire consists of a Permanent Easement which will allow the project contractor to construct the proposed pedestrian path along the road frontage. A legal description of those property interests is attached.

The City of Santa Rosa is offering $3,800.00 for the College’s interest (approximately 7,820 square feet) and improvement to its parcel. The proposed easement and agreement has been reviewed by legal counsel.
