SRJC ATHLETICS HIRES NEW MEN'S WATER POLO, SOFTBALL COACHES

Coach DenizeAfter three years as former coach, James Graham's assistant, Tyler Denize enters his first year as Head Men's Water Polo Coach for the Bear Cubs. Denize comes to SRJC with a strong background in both club, high school, and collegiate water polo and swimming, and was an All American community college water polo player himself for SRJC conference rival Diablo Valley College. Denize looks forward to another exciting season with many returning sophomores from the 2007 team that finished third at the State Championships last season. In softball, after years of coaching local high school softball and basketball teams, Pat Fitzgerald joins the Cubs as the new Head Softball Coach at SRJC. Fitzgerald already has a large group of returners and incoming freshman ready to begin preparations for the upcoming spring season.

Golf TournamentBCAT 13th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 6th at the Windsor Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament, dinner, raffle, and auction go to support the SRJC PE Dance and Athletic Department. Space is limited so register early. MedinaExcellence in Education Dance and Physical Education instructor, Debbe-Ann Medina, was honored this spring by being named the DANCE INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR for all community colleges in California. As the Chair of the Dance Department, Medina oversees won of the nation's largest and most prestigious dance programs in the country. Congratulations to Medina and her award winning efforts–Santa Rosa Junior College is proud of her accomplishments and years of dedicated service to these programs. We would also like to welcome SRJC Dance's new full time instructor Kelvin Cooper who joins us at both the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses this fall.
