Artist Statement

This drawing was made using charcoal on paper. It is a quick 30 seconds to 5 minutes drawing, using elements of mass, line, scribble-line, and sustained gesture drawing with the intention of defining the general characteristics: placement, movement, shape, weight and proportion of the live model. Gesture drawing requires seeing the entire figure quickly and making lines and marks that best describe the form and action of the live model.
