Artist Statement

This is a brief statement about what drawing the figure has that embodies significance for me. I believe it is a great learning tool: how to respond to the gesture, the contour, the pattern, the positive and negative space, and finally, the emotional impact of all this, the feeling of love being most prominent.

I believe the human figure and face provide an immediate and available resource for such study.
