Doyle Scholarship SRJC Foundation Scholarships for

The Frank P. Doyle and Polly O'Meara Doyle Trust distributes funds for scholarships to assist students attending SRJC. Two scholarship programs are provided: The Doyle Scholarship and The Doyle Occupational Education Award. To apply, you must plan to enroll as a student at SRJC. Scholarship award amounts range from $1,000 - $1,600 per academic year for students enrolling in at least 12 units (9 graded units) per semester. Eligible students may receive Doyle funds for up to three years (six semesters). Award amounts and program requirements are subject to change based on scholarship fund availability. This scholarship is for students planning to complete an associates degree and/or units necessary to transfer to a four-year institution. High school seniors planning to graduate in spring 2009 or high school graduates must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA)=3.00 or higher. Passage of the CHSPE or GED exam is also accepted in lieu of a high school diploma (attach certificate and transcript to application). College applicants must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA)=2.75 or higher. College applicants must have completed at least one 12 unit semester (9 graded units) before this application is submitted. If you have already completed 73 or more college units, you are not eligible for this scholarship. See the Doyle Occupation Education Award. Please note: We will calculate your GPA based on all college units completed (both at SRJC and units transferred into SRJC). The Doyle Occupational Education Award This scholarship is for students planning to complete one of the occupational certificate programs at Santa Rosa Junior College. High School Graduates and High School Senior applicants must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA)=2.50 or higher. Applicant must have completed at least two courses in high school related to the chosen occupational field. Passage of the CHSPE or GED exam is also accepted in lieu of a high school diploma (attach certificate and transcript to application). College applicants must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA)=2.50 or higher. College applicants must have completed at least one 12 unit semester (9 graded units) and two courses related to the chosen occupational field before this application is submitted. Please note: We will calculate your GPA based on all college units completed at SRJC and units transferred into SRJC. There is no unit cap for this program. High school graduates must attach an official high school transcript (sealed in its original envelope) showing grades nine through twelve. Unofficial or incomplete transcripts will not be accepted. If applicable, also attach CHSPE or GED certificate and transcript. College applicants should have all transcripts and records of completed courses on file with the SRJC Admissions and Records Office before this application is submitted. If this is not possible, you must attach an official copy of each college transcript (sealed in its original envelope) to this application. The Doyle award is initially based on your qualifying GPA and is paid within federal and state financial assistance guidelines. If you have additional financial need and wish to seek an award increase, you must have submitted a 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to March 2, 2009. SRJC must be listed on your FAFSA as your educational institution with the code of 001287. How and When to Apply Students may apply for the 2009-10 Doyle Scholarship from January 5 - March 2, 2009. Applications will be available at the SRJC Petaluma Campus in Call Hall, the SRJC Scholarship Office, Plover Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus, and online. You will be notified by letter in mid-May 2009 whether or not you are eligible for this award. Funds are disbursed at the beginning of each semester, after verification of enrollment at Santa Rosa Junior College. |
